Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi
Sitting in old town Santa Fe, the Cathedral Basilica is a Roman Catholic cathedral, and the mother church of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. The cathedral was constructed by Archbishop Jean Baptiste Lamy some time between 1869-1886, on the site of an older church. In 2005, a small, round window featuring a dove (the symbol of the Holy Spirit) was added, a stained glass replica of the 17th century alabaster window designed by the Italian artist Bernini for St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
